How to connect PrestaShop with Odoo

Connect PrestaShop with a Webservice key and Odoo with an API key. Odoo publishes the catalog into PrestaShop, with attributes turned into combinations, and sends stock from the locations you choose and prices from your pricelists. Each PrestaShop order becomes an Odoo sales order and each customer an Odoo contact, ready to invoice.

Before you start

What you need.

  • PrestaShop 1.6 to 9, reachable over HTTPS, with the Webservice enabled.
  • Your Odoo URL, database, a user and an API key for that user.
  • The same reference (SKU) in both catalogs.
Step by step

The setup.

  1. Connect PrestaShop

You create a Webservice key in your PrestaShop admin and paste it in NexxoSync with your store address. Works with PrestaShop 1.6 to 9.

    1. In PrestaShop, go to Advanced Parameters › Webservice, enable it and add a key with the permissions NexxoSync lists.
    2. In NexxoSync, go to Connections, choose PrestaShop and paste your store address and the key.
    3. Optional: install the NexxoSync module for real-time notices and to receive orders from your other channels.
  2. Connect Odoo

Odoo has no central app store login: you connect with your Odoo URL, database, user and API key. An optional module adds real-time notifications.

    1. In Odoo, create an API key for the user NexxoSync will act as.
    2. In NexxoSync, go to Connections, choose Odoo and enter the URL, database, user and API key.
    3. Optional: download the NexxoSync Connector module, install it in Odoo and paste the token NexxoSync shows you.
  3. Create the integration

Create an integration between PrestaShop and Odoo. The wizard asks where your catalog lives and where sales are recorded, and proposes a table of flows: one row per kind of data, each with its own direction.

  4. Set the flows

Turn on these rows. The others can stay off, or be set to your case: directions a platform's API doesn't allow are disabled, with the reason.

    • Publish new products: Odoo → PrestaShop. Creates PrestaShop products, simple or with combinations, from Odoo.
    • Stock: Odoo → PrestaShop. From the Odoo locations you include.
    • Prices: Odoo → PrestaShop. From Odoo pricelists, converted to PrestaShop's prices without tax.
    • Orders: PrestaShop → Odoo. Each PrestaShop order becomes a sales order.
    • Customers: PrestaShop → Odoo. PrestaShop customers are created or updated as contacts.
  5. Link your products

NexxoSync proposes links between both catalogs by SKU: confirm them. Products without a SKU can be linked by hand. Only linked products are synced. Products that only exist in Odoo are created in PrestaShop by the Publish flow, which is off by default.

  6. Simulate and turn it on

Simulate the stock, price and customer flows to see every change they would make, without writing anything. Then turn the integration on: flows run on every change where the platform sends notifications, with a scheduled run as a safety net, and every run is recorded in the history.

Good to know

Tips from real setups.

  • If your Odoo pricelist has tax-included prices, enter the tax rate in the PrestaShop connection: PrestaShop stores prices without tax and NexxoSync converts them.
  • Install the NexxoSync module in PrestaShop so new orders reach Odoo right away; without it, they are picked up every few minutes (15 by default).
  • Orders can arrive as drafts, confirmed, or confirmed and invoiced automatically, with payment, shipping and tax mapping.
