How to connect PrestaShop with Mercado Libre

Create a Webservice key in PrestaShop and authorize your Mercado Libre account in NexxoSync. PrestaShop products, with their combinations, can be published on Mercado Libre, and stock and prices stay in step, with tax added and an optional markup. With the free NexxoSync module installed, each Mercado Libre sale is created as a PrestaShop order and PrestaShop discounts the stock.

Before you start

What you need.

  • PrestaShop 1.6 to 9, reachable over HTTPS, with the Webservice enabled.
  • A Mercado Libre seller account.
  • A reference (SKU) on each product and combination.
Step by step

The setup.

  1. Connect Mercado Libre

One click: you sign in to Mercado Libre and authorize NexxoSync. Tokens are obtained and renewed automatically.

    1. In NexxoSync, go to Connections and choose Mercado Libre.
    2. Click “Connect with Mercado Libre” and sign in with your seller account.
    3. Approve access. You return to NexxoSync with the account connected.
  2. Connect PrestaShop

You create a Webservice key in your PrestaShop admin and paste it in NexxoSync with your store address. Works with PrestaShop 1.6 to 9.

    1. In PrestaShop, go to Advanced Parameters › Webservice, enable it and add a key with the permissions NexxoSync lists.
    2. In NexxoSync, go to Connections, choose PrestaShop and paste your store address and the key.
    3. Optional: install the NexxoSync module for real-time notices and to receive orders from your other channels.
  3. Create the integration

Create an integration between Mercado Libre and PrestaShop. The wizard asks where your catalog lives and where sales are recorded, and proposes a table of flows: one row per kind of data, each with its own direction.

  4. Set the flows

Turn on these rows. The others can stay off, or be set to your case: directions a platform's API doesn't allow are disabled, with the reason.

    • Publish new products: PrestaShop → Mercado Libre. Off by default. Turn it on to create listings for new products.
    • Stock: PrestaShop → Mercado Libre. Per product and per combination.
    • Prices: PrestaShop → Mercado Libre. With tax added and an optional markup.
    • Orders: Mercado Libre → PrestaShop. Each sale becomes a PrestaShop order, with the NexxoSync module installed.
  5. Link your products

NexxoSync proposes links between both catalogs by SKU: confirm them. Products without a SKU can be linked by hand. Only linked products are synced. Products that only exist in PrestaShop are created in Mercado Libre by the Publish flow, which is off by default.

  6. Simulate and turn it on

Simulate the stock, price and customer flows to see every change they would make, without writing anything. Then turn the integration on: flows run on every change where the platform sends notifications, with a scheduled run as a safety net, and every run is recorded in the history.

Good to know

Tips from real setups.

  • Install the NexxoSync module for real-time updates and to receive orders. Without it, tasks run every few minutes and Mercado Libre sales can't be created in PrestaShop.
  • With advanced stock management (warehouses), PrestaShop calculates stock itself and it can't be written. In that case, keep PrestaShop as the origin of stock.
  • Prices are converted with or without tax: set your store's tax rate in the connection so Mercado Libre gets the final price.
