How to connect WooCommerce with Mercado Libre

NexxoSync connects WooCommerce and Mercado Libre through their official APIs, without a WordPress plugin: you approve access once from your store and authorize your Mercado Libre account. WooCommerce products are then published on Mercado Libre, stock and prices follow every change, and each Mercado Libre sale is created as a WooCommerce order.

Before you start

What you need.

  • A WooCommerce store reachable from the internet over HTTPS.
  • A Mercado Libre seller account.
  • A SKU on each product and variation.
Step by step

The setup.

  1. Connect Mercado Libre

One click: you sign in to Mercado Libre and authorize NexxoSync. Tokens are obtained and renewed automatically.

    1. In NexxoSync, go to Connections and choose Mercado Libre.
    2. Click “Connect with Mercado Libre” and sign in with your seller account.
    3. Approve access. You return to NexxoSync with the account connected.
  2. Connect WooCommerce

One click: WooCommerce opens its own authorization screen in your store and the API keys are created for you. Manual keys also work.

    1. In NexxoSync, go to Connections and choose WooCommerce.
    2. Enter your store address and click “Connect with WooCommerce”.
    3. Approve access in your WordPress admin. Webhooks are registered automatically.
  3. Create the integration

Create an integration between Mercado Libre and WooCommerce. The wizard asks where your catalog lives and where sales are recorded, and proposes a table of flows: one row per kind of data, each with its own direction.

  4. Set the flows

Turn on these rows. The others can stay off, or be set to your case: directions a platform's API doesn't allow are disabled, with the reason.

    • Publish new products: WooCommerce → Mercado Libre. Creates Mercado Libre listings for WooCommerce products not yet published.
    • Stock: WooCommerce → Mercado Libre. Per product and per variation, only where it changed.
    • Prices: WooCommerce → Mercado Libre. Regular price with optional markup and rounding.
    • Orders: Mercado Libre → WooCommerce. Each Mercado Libre sale becomes a WooCommerce order.
  5. Link your products

NexxoSync proposes links between both catalogs by SKU: confirm them. Products without a SKU can be linked by hand. Only linked products are synced. Products that only exist in WooCommerce are created in Mercado Libre by the Publish flow, which is off by default.

  6. Simulate and turn it on

Simulate the stock, price and customer flows to see every change they would make, without writing anything. Then turn the integration on: flows run on every change where the platform sends notifications, with a scheduled run as a safety net, and every run is recorded in the history.

Good to know

Tips from real setups.

  • If a security or caching plugin blocks the REST API or webhooks, allow NexxoSync's requests. NexxoSync tells you when a firewall is the problem instead of blaming your keys.
  • Each Mercado Libre category has required attributes: products missing them are flagged and not published until you complete them.
  • Add a markup on the Prices flow to cover Mercado Libre's fees, and round the result, for example to .99.
