How to migrate eBay Seller Hub listings to the Inventory API
Listings created in Seller Hub or with older tools aren't visible to eBay's Inventory API, which sync tools like NexxoSync use. Connect your eBay account to NexxoSync: it lists your active listings, shows which can be migrated (each listing and variation needs its own SKU), and migrates the ones you choose in one step. After that they can be linked and synced. The migration can't be undone.
What you need.
- An eBay seller account with active listings.
- A SKU on every listing and on every variation, with no two variations sharing one.
The setup.
Connect your eBay account
In NexxoSync, go to Connections, choose eBay and the site you sell on, and authorize NexxoSync with your seller account.
Review your Seller Hub listings
Open the eBay connection's listings: NexxoSync shows your active listings and, for each one that can't be migrated yet, the reason: a missing SKU, variations without SKU, or variations sharing the same SKU.
Fix the SKUs on eBay
Add the missing SKUs in eBay, ideally the same ones your store or ERP uses, so the listings link automatically after the migration.
Migrate
Select the listings that can be migrated and confirm. From then on they are edited through eBay's Inventory API (by NexxoSync or other tools that use it), not with the older tools. It can't be undone; listings that fail show the reason.
Link and sync
Create an integration between eBay and your store or ERP. The migrated listings are linked by SKU, and stock, prices and orders start flowing.
Tips from real setups.
- Migrate a few listings first and check them on eBay before migrating the rest.
- Each eBay connection is one site: listings on another eBay site are migrated from that site's connection.
- Listings created by NexxoSync are already in the Inventory API and need no migration.
How to migrate eBay Seller Hub listings to the Inventory API
Why do I have to migrate?
Because eBay's Inventory API, the modern API sync tools use, doesn't see listings created in Seller Hub or with the older Trading API until they are migrated.
Does the listing lose its sales history or reviews?
No. The migration keeps the same listing; what changes is the API it is managed through.
Can I go back?
No. Once migrated, a listing is managed through the Inventory API for good. That's why NexxoSync asks for confirmation first.
