How to sync Shopify and WooCommerce

Pick one store as the home of the catalog and one as the place where orders are recorded. NexxoSync creates the missing products in the other store, keeps stock and prices in step per variant, and creates each order and new customer where you record them. Both platforms support every flow, in either direction.

Before you start

What you need.

  • A Shopify store where you can approve apps.
  • A WooCommerce store reachable over HTTPS.
  • A SKU on each product and variant.
Step by step

The setup.

  1. Connect Shopify

One click: you approve the NexxoSync app in your Shopify admin. No custom apps and no tokens to copy.

    1. In NexxoSync, go to Connections and choose Shopify.
    2. Enter your store's myshopify.com address and click “Connect with Shopify”.
    3. Approve the permissions in Shopify. Real-time notifications are registered automatically.
  2. Connect WooCommerce

One click: WooCommerce opens its own authorization screen in your store and the API keys are created for you. Manual keys also work.

    1. In NexxoSync, go to Connections and choose WooCommerce.
    2. Enter your store address and click “Connect with WooCommerce”.
    3. Approve access in your WordPress admin. Webhooks are registered automatically.
  3. Create the integration

Create an integration between Shopify and WooCommerce. The wizard asks where your catalog lives and where sales are recorded, and proposes a table of flows: one row per kind of data, each with its own direction.

  4. Set the flows

Turn on these rows. The others can stay off, or be set to your case: directions a platform's API doesn't allow are disabled, with the reason.

    • Publish new products: Shopify → WooCommerce. Creates WooCommerce products, including variable ones.
    • Stock: Shopify → WooCommerce. Per variant, from the Shopify locations you include.
    • Prices: Shopify → WooCommerce. Regular and sale prices.
    • Orders: WooCommerce → Shopify. WooCommerce orders are created in Shopify.
    • Customers: WooCommerce → Shopify. New WooCommerce customers are created in Shopify.
  5. Link your products

NexxoSync proposes links between both catalogs by SKU: confirm them. Products without a SKU can be linked by hand. Only linked products are synced. Products that only exist in Shopify are created in WooCommerce by the Publish flow, which is off by default.

  6. Simulate and turn it on

Simulate the stock, price and customer flows to see every change they would make, without writing anything. Then turn the integration on: flows run on every change where the platform sends notifications, with a scheduled run as a safety net, and every run is recorded in the history.

Good to know

Tips from real setups.

  • Moving from one store to the other? Publish into the new one, then keep stock and orders flowing until you close the old store.
  • Running both stores at once, keep a single direction for stock: two stores writing stock to each other would fight over the same units.
  • Customers are matched by email, tax ID or phone; existing ones can be updated or left as they are.
Frequently asked questions

How to sync Shopify and WooCommerce

Can I use it to migrate from WooCommerce to Shopify?

Yes. Set Publish from WooCommerce to Shopify, then keep stock and orders flowing until you close the old store.

Won't two-way syncs loop?

No. NexxoSync recognizes the notifications caused by its own writes and ignores them, so a change does not bounce back.

Is it real time?

Yes. Both stores send notifications, which NexxoSync registers when you connect them; a scheduled run acts as a safety net.
